Had a fun day out

Went with the family for a day out to Wildwood Escot after buying tickets online. It was pretty easy to get them, no fuss. The kids really liked the otters and the wildcats. We packed a picnic, but the cafe looked decent too. It was a nice change of pace from our usual parks, and everyone had a good time. Would probably go again next year.

Detailed look at my visit

I decided to try the 'Keeper for a Day' experience at Wildwood Kent, which I booked online. The booking system was clear, and I received several informative emails leading up to the date. On the day, the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I got to help feed some of the animals, including the red squirrels, and learned a lot about their conservation efforts. The facilities were clean, and safety protocols were well-explained. Lunch was included, which was a nice touch. It was a truly immersive experience that felt well-organized from start to finish. For anyone interested in a hands-on animal encounter, I highly recommend it.

Good experience, minor hiccup

I purchased an annual family membership last month. The online process was straightforward, and I got the confirmation email quickly. We've visited the Kent park twice already, and the kids love seeing the wolves and bears. The value for money is definitely there if you plan to go more than once or twice a year. My only small complaint is that the membership cards took almost two weeks to arrive in the mail, which meant we had to use the confirmation email at the gate on our first visit. Not a big deal, but a faster delivery for physical cards would be nice.

Good value for a day

I was looking for something to do that wouldn't break the bank, so I decided on Wildwood. I bought a senior ticket for the Kent park. The price was reasonable, especially compared to some other attractions around. I appreciated the discount, it made the visit feel more accessible. Seeing the bison and the deer was really interesting, and the paths were easy to navigate. Felt like I got my money's worth for a quiet afternoon out.

Loved the wildcats!

Oh my goodness, I adopted a wildcat and it was so easy! The website was super straightforward. I got all the adoption info really fast. Knowing my money helps them is just the best. Can't wait to visit the park and see them in person!

Can I upgrade my regular day ticket to an annual membership if I decide I like it while I'm there?

D Derek T. 2 months ago
Yes, I did that last year! You just go to their reception/ticket office before you leave and they'll deduct the cost of your day ticket from the membership price. Super easy.

Yep, pretty sure you can. Most places like that let you. Just make sure you do it before you head out, like, same day.

Are their 'keeper for a day' experiences worth the money? Thinking of getting one for my nephew's birthday.

C Cleo T. 3 months ago
My daughter did the junior keeper one and absolutely loved it. Said it was amazing getting to help feed some of the animals. Definitely worth it for an animal-mad kid.

I've heard good things about the experiences. Pricey, but apparently super hands-on and memorable. Better than just a regular visit if you want something special.

I'm planning a trip from London, is it usually super busy during half term breaks or can you still get around okay?

N Noor G. 2 months ago
Oh man, half-term is definitely a peak time. It gets pretty packed, especially if the weather's good. Book your tickets ahead if you can.

It's busier for sure, but they handle crowds pretty well. I went during Easter once and it was fine, just be prepared for queues for food or popular animal viewing spots.

Thinking of getting a family membership. Do they ever have sales on those, or is it pretty much full price year-round?

A Andre D. 2 months ago
Yeah, they definitely do. I remember seeing a Black Friday deal last year for memberships. Keep an eye out around holidays.

They usually have a membership discount, sometimes tied to specific times like Black Friday. But general discounts are more for day tickets or if you're a local. Membership is already a pretty good deal if you go a few times.

How does Wildwood compare to Howletts? I've been to Howletts before and liked it, wondering if Wildwood is similar enough to try.

B Beth 3 months ago
Wildwood is more focused on native British animals and conservation, so it's a bit different vibe than Howletts with its more exotic big cats. Both are good but Wildwood has a unique feel.

They're different beasts (haha). Howletts has bigger, more 'zoo' type animals. Wildwood is all about rewilding and native UK species. If you want to see wolves, bears, and other UK stuff, Wildwood is awesome. Less 'flashy' but really good conservation work.
